Self Portrait - Jhorge

Just made the deadline. First one is a bad imitation of the controversial crying babies photographs. Homemade lighting with 2 floorlamps on the sides, a desklamp facing the background, and pop-up flash with the Puffer. All are edited with PS 7.0.

Self Portrait/ Caleb

Tried to think of what I could add to the photos to tell a little about myself.  Since firearms and politics are important to me, I donned the "Revolution" bandana and pulled out some guns. All shots taken in the backyard about an hour before sunset, no flash, all edited in lightroom and photoshop CS3.

Here's my other one.

Here's two of mine. I have an idea for my last one, but it has to be outside on a nice day. So I'll submit my last one over the weekend. I'm going for 3 totally different looks.

F-stop 4.0, Shutter 1/125, used Nifty Fifty (no flash).

I have a military syle jacket and a Cadet Hat. So I decided to put two and two togther and wanted to play around with my editing skills since I'm new at it. I worked with grain/noise, feathering, color adjustment, etc to try to get that Vintage General Portrait look. haha

F-stop 1.8, Shutter 1/60, used Speedlite 430II Ext. Flash.

Tried to be creative with this pic. It's 3 diferent shots and had to print 2 hard copies.

I used the shower liner as my back drop.

Self Portrait (Aries)

Critique away!

1st and 2nd photos : 57mm f/7.1 ISO 100 1/40sec

3rd: 70mm f/10 ISO 100 1/100 sec

4th: 68mm f/13 ISO 100 1/100 sec

My self portrait isn't as Artsy Fartsy as Marks but I did play with the off camera flash.  I used my 5D with two off camera flashes via Pocket Wizard (580 ex II and the Vivitar 285 HV)

Self Portrait/Mark

f/4.5, ISO 640, 1/25000
Just thought that I would do something different for the "Self Portrait" assignment. I tried to use my cheap ol' paintball gun but I didn't have any CO2 left so I Just punctured the balls and let them bleed out. Set it all up on a tripod and timer. Plus a whole lot of tape so I knew where to place everything.

Sample Posting

Shutter Speed: 1/100
F-Stop: f/5.6
ISO: 400
This is a picture that my wife took of my son, Aslan, and I and the playground.

Alright so I hear that there are a lot of questions on how to post. So I decided to post a sample submittal, If that's not a word it should be. So submit your "Best" three shots. Then don't forget to also add your "Exif" data. Now that shows what ISO you were shooting at, your F-Stop (i.e. f/8), shutter speed, etc. If you want you can explain each shot, i.e. what you were thinking when you composed the shot and so forth. Lastly put your name with it as well. Now you don't have to do it all in the exact format that I've done, that was just an example. The data helps all of us to help give you tips on what you could of changed and what your doing right. It also shows that your progressing.

Learn from your mistakes. That's what this group is all about. To better ourselves in this wonderful world of Photography. Plus to get our money's worth out of our expensive toys. Because if you don't know what your doing with your camera. It's just an expensive point and shoot camera. That's like going out and buying a Lambo only to drive it to Publix and back. Use it to it's full potential.

Here we go.

So I just thought that I might make a nice little home for us. Something small. Just for us. This way we all have one place to put all of our assignments. Or even just tips. Now this blogspot is all of ours to use. So make it the way you want to. If you want to change the layout or whatever have at it.
